Organization
Profile
The
American Haflinger Registry (AHR), which represents
over 9000 North American Haflinger owners
and over 20,000 Haflingers,
was formed in 1998 from the combined memberships
of the Haflinger Association of America (HAA)
and the Haflinger Registry of North America
(HRNA). By majority vote of both memberships,
HAA and HRNA were dissolved to create a single
unified registry for North American Haflingers.
Our
Mission
AHR
is a democratic member-owned nonprofit business
dedicated to providing timely and accurate documentation
of Haflinger pedigrees and ownership, as well as
promoting the Haflinger breed through the sponsorship
of shows, two sales (Spring and Fall), national
advertising program and our voluntary classification
program.
Benefits of Membership
Members are vital to the health of the Registry. Members volunteer their time and talents by serving on the Board of Directors or on the numerous committees that benefit Haflinger members and owners. Members have a say in who become Board members by participating in annual Director elections. Members also have the opportunity to make their voices heard on corporation business by voting on corporation bylaw modifications. Membership is based on the calendar year from January 1st to December 31st each year. First time members have the opportunity to prorate the first year if they join for the second year at the same time. Contact the AHR Office for more details. With membership comes reduced rates on Registry transactions such as foal registration, transfer of ownership, and DNA testing. Membership allows participation in member-only programs such as Points & Awards, Inspection & Classification and allows participation in the USDF All-Breeds award for Haflingers. Members also receive our bi-monthly breed magazine Haflinger Horse which keeps members updated on Registry business and also contains articles about Haflingers, their owners, and their adventures. Members may also take advantage of free text ads on our web classified page. Please join today! |
