World Show Postponed

The AHR Board is passing along the information received today on the postponement of the World Haflinger Show in Ebbs, Austria for May of 2020. We join our fellow breeders in Europe and around the world in disappointment that the event had to be delayed, but in light of the on-going COVID-19 epidemic in Northern Italy and spreading across Europe we understand and support the move taken by the Tirol Breeders’ Association and the World Haflinger organizations. We look forward to the event in June 2021 and wish our friends in Austria, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and the remainder of Europe and the World all the best in fighting and recovering from COVID-19. To all of our members and Haflinger friends in the US we send our thoughts, prayers and best wishes to you and our country as we continue to take unprecedented measures to fight this invisible foe. Stay safe, follow the guidelines and we look forward to seeing everyone this summer as the cloud over the world lifts this summer.

Stay safe and Godspeed
AHR Board of Directors

Spring foal registration is starting! Here is a reminder on the proper way to register your foals.

Number one important thing is to NOT use old forms! Make sure you download new forms from the AHR website at www.haflingerhorse.com that have the correct office address on them!

Here are links to the correct registration form and the correct transfer form. DNA kits will be automatically generated for fillies/mares being registered. All other DNA Typing requests will need to complete this DNA Request Form. If you have any questions on these forms please contact the Pedigree and Registration committee at registration@haflingerhorse.com. Make sure to fully complete all forms, and don’t forget your Certificate of Breeding.

Have a happy and healthy foaling season!

AHR National Show 2020

AHR National Show 2020

In response to the questions on the AHR National Show for 2020:

The Board is exploring a couple of alternative possibilities for the show, both timing and location. We have been working to find locations all year that would accommodate a show with all disciplines of the breed being represented. This is not an easy task to find a location that will accommodate the classes in a reasonable time frame and include both the Pleasure/Sporthorse and Hitch horses. We expect to have more information at the Annual Meeting next month.

As we look forward to holding a National Show in 2020, now is a good time to volunteer to help with the show committee. Please submit your name and contact information (name, address, telephone and email) to nationals@haflingerhorse.com. A National Show or really any horse show cannot be the work of one or two people and be a success. This is especially true of a Registry-sponsored show, so everyone looking for a show should be looking at helping to make this possible.
