Sue Casseday Knee Surgery

As many may have already seen on Sue’s Facebook posts she is about to undergo knee replacement surgery in March. Originally, Sue was going to have both knees done at the same time, but, plans have changed, and she is going to continue to hide her secret identity as Wonder Woman and only have one knee done at a time. Sue, it is too late on keeping the Wonder Woman identity under wraps, we have all known it for years based on everything you do for the Registry, your family, and the community you live in. The first thing to address is to remind everybody to keep Sue in your thoughts and prayers for the surgery to be fully successful and for a speedy recovery.

The question on everyone’s mind is what that means for processing papers and paperwork for the Registry. Actually, the Board believes that Sue’s surgery will have no impact on the processing of any paperwork. Sue has been working hard to complete all registration and transfer documents received by the Registry before she goes in for surgery. Second, we will actually have more of Sue’s time for a few weeks while she recovers and cannot work at her regular job. Sue is not one to watch the soaps all afternoon. So, we do not see any impact with the processing of paperwork at this time.

On behalf of all the Board of Directors, all the members of the Registry and myself, Sue best wishes with your surgery and all our thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery.

Godspeed,
Chuck Hendershot

Inspection Update!

ATTENTION HAFLINGER OWNERS OUT WEST! There will be a California Inspection and Classification site in 2019!

The Inspection Committee and AHR Board of Directors are committed to serving the needs of our members in different regions throughout the country. After receiving feedback from interested members, there will be an inspection in central California in Hanford at DG Bar Ranch sometime in September. (Date to be announced by April 1, 2019), as well as an inspection in Ashland, Ohio in July.

We are committed to serving our members in various regions throughout the country, and are working on a three-year rotation of I and C sites out west and down south (in addition to hosting a yearly site in the midwest), so that members can plan ahead to participate and/or attend to observe and learn more about the inspection process.

Another exciting addition to future inspections in all locations will be making them an informative, educational and promotional event, including: a meet and greet Bar-B-Que the evening before inspections, where participants can meet some of the judges, ask questions, and go over the packet that illustrates what the judges are looking for on inspection day (click here to download), the inspection day itself, and a day following inspections with either a show, clinics, or other event. Stay tuned for more information on these exciting additions to the Inspection and Classification program!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mary Procopio via email at newhorizonshaflingers@gmail.com, Suzi Vliestra at missmotivation17@gmail.com, or any other member of the Inspection Committee. Thank you!
